Man, 31, dies in River Dee incident near Wrexham

A man aged 31 has died after an incident on the River Dee near Wrexham.

North Wales Police said they were alerted by ambulance crews at 14:15 BST and called to an area at Newbridge.

Officers said the man, who was local to the area, was "taken ill in the river", and later pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigations are continuing into the cause of death, but there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.

North Wales Police said the man's family have been informed, as well as the coroner.
