Marksmen called to dangerous bull

An escaped bull has been shot close to a dual carriageway on Anglesey.

Police marksmen were called to form a protective cordon while a trained expert shot the "dangerous and agitated" animal.

It had jumped several fences and was close to the A55 at Llanfaelog around 1300 BST on Sunday.

North Wales Police said the farmer had called for their assistance as he felt the bull could not be returned safely and arranged for it to be destroyed.

A police spokesman reassured the local community that the safety of the public was maintained throughout the incident.
