The jury in the murder case of Ffion Wyn Roberts from Porthmadog has been sent home for the weekend.

After four days of deliberation jurors have so far failed to reach a decision on whether Iestyn Davies killed the 22-year-old care worker.

The wool-packer factory worker pleads not guilty to murder.

Ms Roberts' strangled and drowned body was discovered in a drainage ditch, known as Y Cyt, near her home in the town on 10 April last year.

The judge Mr Justice Lloyd-Jones told the jury on Friday morning that he would accept a majority verdict.

The court is due to sit again at 1000 GMT on Monday.
