Child airlifted after peak fall in Snowdonia

A 10-year-old boy was airlifted to hospital in Bangor after slipping from a footpath and rolling 10 feet (3 m) into a stream during a family walk in Snowdonia.

Ogwen Valley mountain rescue team gave first aid to the boy, who was on holiday from Kent.

The team's Chris Lloyd said the helicopter was called out because Monday's incident involved a child.

He said the party was well organised and the fall in Cwm Idwal was bad luck.
