Man suffers 80% burns in Llandudno flat fire

Police are investigating the cause of a fire which left a Conwy man in hospital with 80% burns.

Emergency services were called to an address in the Augusta Street area of Llandudno at 1400 BST on Wednesday.

A 37-year-old man has been taken to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd where he is being treated for his injuries.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but is at present unexplained.

Crews from Llandudno, Colwyn Bay and Llanfairfechan attended the property above a shop after receiving reports from a neighbour that smoke was coming out through an open window.
