North West Wales

Anglesey traffic hit by double road closure

Problems are expected for Holyhead-bound traffic on the island of Anglesey on Wednesday morning after both main routes were closed.

North Wales Police said the A5 was closed in both directions between J6 A5114/A5 at Llangefni and J5 A4080 at Gwalchmai due to a jack-knifed lorry.

Police said the road was not likely to reopen until around 1330 BST.

The A5 is currently being used as a diversionary route as the A55 which is also closed due to roadworks.

Traffic Wales has suggested westbound traffic use a temporary alternative route through Llangefni town centre on A5114 and then through Bodffordd on the B5109 to Trefor and use the B5112 to return to the A55 at J5 at Gwalchmai.
