Biker dies on West Mercia Police course in Gwynedd

An appeal has been made for witnesses to a fatal crash involving a motorcyclist during a West Mercia Police training course in Gwynedd.

A man riding a blue Honda motorbike was in a collision with a white camper van and a blue Vauxhall Insignia on the A487 at Pantperthog near Machynlleth.

North Wales Police said the man died at the scene of the incident which happened around 1025 BST on Wednesday.

West Mercia Police said he did not work for their force.

No-one else is believed to have been injured. The road was closed between the Cross Foxes pub and Dyfi bridge.

The road was closed following the incident and reopened at about 1800 BST.
