North West Wales

Heavy rain 'may cause flooding' in north west Wales

Areas of north west Wales are at risk of flooding, with heavy showers expected on Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning.

Environment Agency Wales is advising people to remain alert for disruption.

The Met Office forecast heavy rain in the higher areas of Gwynedd, Conwy and Anglesey, which could lead to localised flash flooding.

River levels could rise and flood alerts may be issued but the likelihood of flooding from major rivers is low.

The agency is advising people to listen to local weather and traffic reports and updates on the radio or television, or to view the latest information on the Met Office website.

It added that care should also be taken as driving conditions may be hazardous, and people should listen to traffic reports for advice and for any disruption locally.

For the latest on flood alerts call Floodline 0845 988 1188.
