The funeral of one of two friends who died off the Anglesey coast last month has taken place.

Lewis Darroch, 22, from Valley, Anglesey, was pulled from the sea by rescuers near Cable Bay on Wednesday, 24 August.

The body of his friend Callum MacKay, also 22, was recovered off Rhosneigr a week later.

North Wales Police believe one went for a swim and when he got into difficulty, the other went in to help him.

Mr Darroch's funeral was held at St Cybi's Church.

He was recovered from the sea by helicopter but he was pronounced dead on arrival at Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor. An inquest has been opened and adjourned.
