Police have arrested a man after a 4x4 vehicle was found near the summit of Snowdon for the second time in a month.

Police have not named the man, 39, who was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and causing criminal damage.

Last month Craig Williams, also 39, of Cheltenham, was accused of dangerous driving and unlawful driving on common land, and is due in court on Thursday.

Police said it would find the safest means to remove the 4x4, which was found last Thursday.

The force added that it would review how to remove the Vauxhall Frontera on Monday.

Police are appealing for information after Snowdonia Mountain Railway staff arrived to find it parked near the summit visitors centre last Thursday morning.

The latest incident comes less than a month after the same vehicle was found on Snowdon.

It has not been confirmed who drove the Vauxhall Frontera up the mountain this time.

The vehicle was taken down on a trailer by the mountain railway on the previous occasion.
