Three people are being questioned after a farmer was shot in the leg during an alleged robbery at his home in Rhydyclafdy on the Lleyn peninsula.

Magistrates have granted North Wales Police an extra 36 hours to interview an 18-year-old man, a 24-year-old woman and a 14-year-old youth.

The 55-year-old man was shot a week ago after two men entered the property, said officers last week.

Police said two guns were stolen along with cash and jewellery.

The raiders left in a getaway car which was later found abandoned.

North Wales Police said three people have been arrested and are being questioned at Dolgellau police station.

Anyone with information about the incident can contact North Wales Police on 101, if in Wales, or 0300 3300101. Alternatively call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
