Anglesey drink-driver's 'miracle' Bangor crash escape
A drink-driver suffered "miraculously light injuries" when the stolen car he was driving broke in two in a "truly horrific" crash, a court has heard.
Christopher Jerman, 22, of Holyhead, Anglesey, had earlier reached speeds of 110mph before the head on collision with a 4x4 vehicle in Bangor.
He was jailed for 20 months at Caernarfon crown court.
Judge Merfyn Hughes QC said police described the crash scene as one of "utter devastation".
Police had abandoned a pursuit because of fears about public safety.
Jerman admitted burgling his father's home, aggravated taking of a Ford Focus bought by his grandfather, and drink-driving.
He was also banned from driving for three years and must take an extended test before being allowed to drive again.
