31 jobs to go at Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics in Llanberis
A company which employs 500 people at Llanberis in Gwynedd has announced 31 job losses.
Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics said the move was essential for sustainable, healthy growth, for the future.
A spokeswoman added the company hopes the redundancies can be found voluntarily within the workforce.
The company was formerly known as Euro/DPC and was owned by Los Angeles-based Diagnostics Products Corporation, but was acquired by Siemens in 2006.
"Every attempt will be made to make these changes through voluntary redundancies and to redeploy roles wherever possible," said a spokeswoman.
"We will consult fully with employees and representatives and will work closely with all employees affected to achieve a positive outcome."
The cuts would affect management as well as manufacturing jobs, she said.
Siemens Healthcare employs around 51,000 employees worldwide and the action is part of an overall global 6-8% reduction in the workforce planned by the company.
The company remained committed to the UK and to the Llanberis facility, the spokeswoman added.
