Police investigating the murder of a man in Gwynedd have been given more time to question four suspects.

Kelvin Jones, 43, from Anglesey, lived in Bangor's Britannia Square, where police attended an incident in the early hours of Sunday.

The four were arrested on suspicion of murder on Sunday.

Police successfully applied to magistrates on Monday evening to hold the suspects in custody for a further 36 hours.

Insp Simon Barrasford of North Wales Police said: "House to house enquiries are continuing and we are also in the process of forensically examining the property in Britannia Square.

"I would also like to ask for the public's assistance and request that anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in and around the area of Britannia Square to let us know as soon possible."

Anyone with any information should contact North Wales Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
