Children in hospital after jet ski sinks off the Anglesey

Four children have been taken to hospital after their jet ski sank off the Anglesey coast.

The youngsters, one aged 15 and three aged 12, were taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor, suffering from suspected hypothermia.

Holyhead coastguard says only three children were wearing lifejackets.

Coastguards said a bung, which prevents water filling the jet ski, had been left out causing it to sink off Benllech beach.

The alarm was raised at 18:17 BST.

The RNLI took the youngsters to a sailing club in Red Wharf Bay to have hot showers before they were taken to hospital by ambulance.

The children are understood to be from outside the area.
