Woman blown over on Snowdon suffers head injuries

A 51-year-old woman has been airlifted to hospital with "significant" head injuries after she was blown over while walking down Snowdon in "gusty" conditions.

She and her partner, from Liverpool, had been on the Llanberis path when she was injured.

A rescue helicopter from RAF Valley on Anglesey flew her to hospital at Bangor on Wednesday evening.

A rescuer said: "It was hammering down with rain and very gusty up there."
