A woman whose body was found in a fast-flowing stream during heavy rain in Gwynedd two days before Christmas has been named.

Susan Hewitt, 50, is thought to have left her house in Nant Ffrancon in Bethesda to check a water supply on 23 December, but the alarm was raised when she failed to return.

North Wales Police said there were no suspicious circumstances.

A post mortem examination has been carried out.

Emergency services were called at 15:37 GMT on 23 December after Ms Hewitt's partner became worried about her.

She was found in a small stream about 50m from her house and was pronounced dead at the scene.

North West Wales coroner Dewi Pritchard Jones is expected to open an inquest in the new year.
