Burglars' cash machine theft on Anglesey foiled

Police on Anglesey are hunting burglars who forced a householder to drive to a cash machine intending to steal money.

Two men broke into a house in Talwrn Road, Llangefni just after 04:00 GMT on Saturday and threatened the occupier.

The victim was then forced to drive the raiders to a nearby supermarket cash machine, but managed to drive off and alert the police.

Witnesses are urged to contact the police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Det Con Shona Campbell of North Wales Police said: "Incidents of this nature are very rare in Anglesey and I'd like to reassure the community that all is being done to quickly identify and apprehend the offenders.

"It is worth reminding all house holders to be vigilant at all times, always ensure your property is locked and secured and if you see any suspicious behaviour contact the police immediately."

Witnesses reporting what they saw are asked to quote reference RC14030731.
