Injured sailor airlifted to hospital off Anglesey coast

A sailor with suspected spinal injuries has been airlifted to hospital after getting into difficulty off the coast of Anglesey.

The Beaumaris lifeboat was launched after receiving a distress call from a motor cruiser in waters near Beaumaris at about 12:45 BST on Saturday.

The boat was brought to Beaumaris pier with the help of Penmon coastguard.

The man, 58, was flown to hospital in Bangor by a rescue crew from RAF Valley.
