A restaurant in the shadow of Conwy castle is being recommended for a go-ahead by planners.

Heritage body Cadw has no objection to the plans for a £1m two floor restaurant on the former garage site now it has seen artists impressions.

The developers said it would create a total of 40 full time and part time jobs.

Images of how the restaurant would look have been put forward after earlier concerns about the impact.

Cadw had asked in September for a look at how the restaurant on Llanrwst Road would appear from the medieval town walls.

It said it now believed it is "unlikely" to have an impact on the castle and walls, which are a world heritage site.

The site has been empty for more than four years.

The application is now recommended for approval.
