A Yorkshire woman who went missing on 8 December has been found safe in north Wales.

There were concerns for the welfare of Michelle Webster, 48, from Sheffield, after her car was found in Colwyn Bay.

She was found on Wednesday by someone walking their dog in Penrhyn Bay, Conwy, and has been taken to hospital. Her family has been told.

Det Chf Insp Steve Whittaker of South Yorkshire Police said he is "absolutely delighted" Ms Webster has been found.

He added: "I am indebted to the support we have had from North Wales Police, who conducted extensive enquiries alongside our officers to bring Michelle home safely for Christmas.

"Thank you to the public in South Yorkshire and Wales who shared our appeal so widely and sent so many messages of support."
