A 7ft slate pillar, used to mark an ancient cart path in Gwynedd, has been stolen.

Police are appealing for any witnesses and hope to trace the owner of a white 4x4 seen driving along the path at 15:00 GMT on Saturday, 31 January.

The pillar marked the border of the old wards of Penrhyn and Faenol and the path from Mynydd Llandegai to Rhiwlas.

Anyone with any information about the theft is asked to call Bethesda Police Station on 101.
