£6m tropical rainforest plan at Colwyn Bay's Welsh Mountain Zoo approved

Plans for a £6m tropical rainforest area at Colwyn Bay's Welsh Mountain Zoo have been approved by councillors.

The scheme includes a dome containing a plant room, reptile exhibits, insect rooms and classrooms.

Conwy councillors recommended the plan at a meeting held on Wednesday afternoon.

The Welsh Mountain Zoo is currently seeking European funding for its Here be Dragons! project.
