Three people arrested after gorse fire on Great Orme
Three people have been arrested as part of an investigation into a fire which swept across 400 sq m of gorse and bracken in Conwy county.
Fire crews were called to tackle the blaze on the Great Orme in Llandudno on Tuesday night just before 21:00 BST.
North Wales Police have released the trio on bail, pending inquiries.
Public Services Minister Leighton Andrews visited fire stations in south Wales on Wednesday to praise crews for their work dealing with grass fires.
The minister visited stations at Caerphilly and Tonypandy.
He said: "They [firefighters] worked tirelessly to control the widespread fires we saw destroying our environment over the Easter holidays and beyond.
"I am well aware of the concern felt by the wider communities affected by these crimes.
"Many people in these communities have provided support to firefighters by volunteering information on suspected perpetrators."
Chief Fire Officer for South Wales Fire and Rescue Service, Huw Jakeway, said: "Firefighters from these stations and across our stations have shown their dedication to protecting their communities."
