Police say students in Bangor may hold vital information after a dog walker was attacked over the weekend.

A 29-year-old man suffered serious injuries after the assault in the early hours of Sunday at Glanrafon Hill.

Police said the victim was talking to a group of students just moments before the incident, and they may have witnessed the incident.

The attacker is described as being in his 40s, with dark hair and wearing grey tracksuit bottoms.

"Moments before the attack the victim was talking to a group of students on Glanrafon Hill who were playing with the man's dog," said Det Con Gwyn Williams from North Wales Police.

"They are likely to have witnessed the attack and so I'd like them to come forward and assist our investigation."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on the non-emergency 101 number or via the force's web chat.
