A teenager from Conwy has been jailed for what a judge called a "terrifying robbery".

Darren Pomeroy, 19, admitted robbing a Llandudno junction off-licence of cash, vodka and tobacco last March.

Caernarfon Crown Court heard Pomeroy, who said he was a heroin addict, waved a wrench and screamed at the shopkeeper that he wanted money.

Judge Geraint Walters sentenced him to 28 months in prison.
