Two Anglesey clerics are to become canons of Bangor Cathedral in Gwynedd, the city's bishop has announced.

The Right Reverend Andy John unveiled the appointments to the Chapter of St Deiniol's Cathedral, which runs the cathedral, led by the Dean of Bangor, the Very Reverend Kathy Jones.

The Reverend Angela Williams is to become canon treasurer and the Reverend Tracy Jones will become canon quintus.

They will be installed at an evensong service at the cathedral on 30 June.

The Reverend Angela Williams is the ministry area Leader of Bro Tysilio and also leads the mission and ministry of the Church in Wales around Menai Bridge and Benllech.

She said: "It is a real honour to have been given this appointment."

The Reverend Tracy Jones is the ministry area leader of Bro Padrig, leading the mission and ministry of the Church in Wales around Cemaes Bay and Llanfaethlu, in north west Anglesey.

"I was most surprised to receive the invitation to become a member of the chapter, but am thrilled. I will contribute as best I can," she said.

Both will continue in their present roles when they become canons.
