Three walkers have been airlifted to safety after a falling rock hit two of them on a Snowdonia peak.

A 12-year-old boy suffered a hand injury and a 19-year-old was hit on the head by the dislodged rock on Tryfan, in Conwy, on Sunday afternoon.

The pair and a man - who were part of a 10-strong party - were winched on to the coastguard rescue helicopter.

The injured pair were taken to Bangor's Ysbyty Gwynedd hospital. Their injuries were not believed to be serious.
