The Welsh government is to review its policy of lowering flags to mark royal deaths after tributes to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia were criticised.

Plaid Cymru AM Simon Thomas claimed they were "sickening" in view of the country's human rights record.

First Minister Carwyn Jones said the Welsh government had followed Foreign Office procedure and "in no way" supported "human rights outrages".

He said in view of the criticism: "It's right, now, to review our policy."
