Charges for underground tours will not be introduced at the Big Pit mining museum in Blaenavon, First Minister Carwyn Jones has confirmed.

Entry to national museums in Wales has been free of charge since 2001.

There had been reports National Museum Wales was considering imposing charges for tours due to budget cuts.

During First Minister's Questions, Mr Jones told AMs there would be "no charges" and that this had been "made clear" to the museum.

He was replying to a question from Torfaen's Labour AM Lynne Neagle.
