Woman arrested in Cardiff after man stabbed

A woman is under arrest after a man was stabbed in the Grangetown area of Cardiff, say police.

South Wales Police said the woman, in her 40s, is in custody on suspicion of attempted murder after the incident at Blaenclydach Street at 1725 BST.

The unnamed 50-year-old local man is in a stable condition at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff.

Armed officers were deployed to the scene as a precaution to ensure the safety of the public and police.

A police spokesman said an investigation was on going and witnesses, or anyone with information, are asked to contact South Wales Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
