ING Direct recruiting 100 extra staff in Cardiff

A banking call centre in Cardiff city centre is to recruit an extra 100 staff over the next two years.

ING Direct, part of the Dutch based ING Group, already employs 220 at its offices in Callaghan Square.

It said the posts would initially support growth in its expanding mortgage and savings businesses.

The company said it had spent £600,000 creating 150 new workstations, training rooms and installing new IT infrastructure at its call centre.

ING Direct first opened offices in Cardiff six years ago.

Chief executive Richard Doe said: "The Cardiff call centre has a proud record of winning national awards for the level of service we provide our customers with so it makes great business sense to grow here."
