Appeal after Richard Carslake found dead in Newport

Police are investigating after the body of a man was found in a flat in Newport.

He has been identified as Richard Glyn Carslake, 48, was found in a property on Jeddo Street, Pill, at 0915 BST on Wednesday.

Gwent Police are treating the death as "unexplained".

Det Ch Insp Ian Roberts said officers wanted to know his final movements but were following several lines of inquiry.

He said: "We are trying to trace his final movements and would like to speak to anyone who may have seen him on and since 29 March.

"Our sympathies remain with Richard's family."

Supt Dave Johnson added: "We have members of the local neighbourhood team in and around the area who are more than happy to speak to anyone who has any information or concerns about this incident."
