Llantwit Fardre woman, 37, dies in Creigiau car crash

A 37-year-old woman has died after the car she was driving left the road and hit a hedge near a rural pub on the outskirts of Cardiff.

South Wales Police said a number of passengers in the Volkswagen Golf suffered minor injuries.

It happened near the Caesar Arms, in Creigiau, at 2115 BST on Saturday.

Police, who are asking for witnesses, say the road was quiet at the time. The woman was from Llantwit Fardre, near Pontypridd, but has not yet been named.

Officers carried out initial investigations and are now appealing for witnesses or anyone who stopped to help, or saw the vehicle being driven before the collision.
