Rhigos Mountain ravine rescue call for fire crews

A rescue has been carried out in a mountain ravine in Rhondda Cynon Taf.

Fire crews were called to the Treherbert side of Rhigos Mountain at 1439 BST on Sunday.

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said one male casualty was taken to hospital in a basket stretcher by the air ambulance.

The service said crews from Treorchy and Tonypandy attended as well as specialist teams form Merthyr, Barry and Ebbw Vale.
