Injured man rescued from Bridgend river bank

An injured man was rescued from a river bank in Bridgend on Thursday evening.

A spokeswoman from South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said they received a call at 18:38 BST that an injured man was at the bottom of a riverbank near Pont George Road in Pyle.

Boat rescue units who attended the scene used rope rescue equipment.

The man, who had head injuries, was taken to hospital by ambulance.

South Wales Police also attended.
