Roadchef to create 50 jobs at M4 services at Magor

Motorway services operator Roadchef says it plans to create 50 jobs after buying the M4 service station at Magor.

The company said it will invest £1m in the Monmouthshire site, off junction 23A of the motorway east of Newport.

It also plans to add a new fast food restaurant and coffee shop.

Roadchef previously operated one services in Wales - at Pont Abraham. It said it anticipated about 50 jobs would be created in upgrading the catering facilities at Magor.

Chief Executive Officer Simon Turl said the services is popular with motorists as it is the first services across the Severn bridges.

The company now owns 20 service stations in the UK.
