Police say they are concerned about a man from Rhondda Cynon Taf who has gone missing from hospital after being involved in a collision with a bus.

Neil Jones, 37, was being assessed at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital on Saturday when he disappeared.

South Wales Police said an extensive search is underway for Mr Jones, of Pontyclun, who has a serious illness and may need treatment after the crash.

They have urged him to contact them or his family.

He was wearing a blue t-shirt, beige shorts and glasses when he went missing.

He is described as being of thin build, 6ft 1ins tall and has a shaved head.

Chief Inspector Belinda Davies said: "We are growing increasingly concerned for his whereabouts.

"Neil was involved in a collision on Saturday and he may be suffering from internal injuries which might require urgent treatment.

"I would like to urge Neil if he sees or listens to this appeal to contact us or his family, who are very worried.

"We have lots of resources on the ground looking for him."

Anyone who has seen Mr Jones in the last few days should contact South Wales Police on 101.
