Cwmbran murder: Tattoo clue appeal after murder

Gwent Police are trying to trace a man with a number of tattoos who they say could hold information about a murder.

A 26-year-old woman has been arrested over the murder of a man whose body was found at a house on Harold Street, Pontnewydd, Cwmbran, on Tuesday.

Police want to trace 37-year-old Barry Bowyer from Cwmbran.

The woman from the Cwmbran area was arrested and remains in custody for questioning after officers forced entry into the property.

The dead man has not yet been formally identified, and the cause of death has still to be established.

Mr Bowyer is described as 5ft 11 (1.8m), of slim build, with brown eyes and short dark brown hair.

He also has a number of tattoos. On his left arm he has the image of a bird of paradise, the letters "EVS", five dots and a picture of a waterfall.

On his right arm he has the words "Linda" and "Brandon".

He also has the letters "DP" and the word "smile" tattooed on his left leg.

Officers are also trying to trace a car, a white Ford Mondeo, registration number R717 VOA.

The Welsh Ambulance Service said it sent one ambulance to the scene after being alerted by Gwent Police at 16:29 BST on Tuesday.
