A 26-year-old woman has already been arrested over the murder of a man whose body was found at a house in Pontnewydd, Cwmbran, on Tuesday.

The victim has not yet been formally identified, and the cause of death has still to be established.

The arrested woman, from the Cwmbran area, remains in custody for questioning after officers forced entry into the property.

Police said specialist officers were supporting the family of the victim.

Officers remained in the area carrying out inquiries, the force added, and anyone with any concerns or information could speak to them.

Police said they had also traced a white Ford Mondeo they were looking for. It was located in the Newport area.

The Welsh Ambulance Service said it sent one ambulance to the scene after being alerted by Gwent Police at 16:29 BST on Tuesday.
