The jury in the Cardiff trial of two men accused of murdering a teenager has been discharged.

Aamir Siddiqi, 17, died of stab injuries after he was attacked at about 13:40 BST on 11 April, 2010, at his home in Roath in the city.

His parents Iqbal, 68, and Parveen, 55, were also seriously injured.

Ben Hope, 37, and Jason Richards, 36, deny Aamir's murder and attempting to murder his parents.

Trial judge, Justice Roderick Evans, discharged the jury on Monday after consultation with the prosecution and defence teams.

A new jury will be sworn in and prosecutor Patrick Harrington is expected to reopen the case later this week, or possibly next week.
