Driver escapes unhurt after car hits Treherbert house

A motorist has escaped unhurt after her car hit a house in Rhondda Cynon Taf.

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service was called to St Mary Street, Treherbert, at 15:26 BST on Saturday.

Crews from Treherbert and Pontypridd attended, but a spokesperson said there was nobody in the house at the time, and the driver - believed to be elderly - was unhurt.

A structural engineer has been called and the scene is expected to be cordoned off.

A fire service spokesperson said a wall is believed to have been knocked back several inches by the collision.
