Asbestos concern over derelict Penygraig factory fire

Residents living very near a derelict building thought to be made of asbestos have been asked to keep their doors and windows shut until a fire is put out.

South Wales firefighters have been tackling the blaze at the former paper and card factory on the Penygraig industrial estate, Rhondda.

They were called during Sunday afternoon, and the building was described as well alight.

The fire service said it had five appliances tackling the blaze.
