Eight miles of queues built up on the M4 eastbound after one lane was closed during Tuesday morning's rush hour when a van hit the central reservation.

Traffic Wales said the accident happened between junction 27 for High Cross and junction 26 for Malpas Road.

Tailbacks were as far back as junction 30 (Cardiff West) heading back into Cardiff on the A48M.

Officers at the scene have cleared the blockage and both lanes are now reopen.
