Penygraig, Rhondda, kitchen blaze injures man and woman

An elderly man and a woman were both burned in a blaze in the kitchen of a Rhondda home, according to fire chiefs.

The man suffered burns to his face and the woman's hands were burnt in the incident in Penygraig.

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said the alarm was raised shortly after 14:00 GMT on Saturday.

A fire crew from Tonypandy attended and used breathing apparatus to put out the blaze, which was described as "small".
