Man dies after collision with car in Cardiff Bay

A 25-year-old man has died in hospital after a collision between a car and a pedestrian in Cardiff Bay.

The incident happened in James Street at around 03:00 GMT.

A man was arrested at the scene and is being held on suspicion of dangerous driving and being unfit to drive through drink or drugs.

The pedestrian was taken to the University Hospital of Wales where he later died. South Wales Police are appealing for witnesses.

James Street remains closed while the police investigation is ongoing and diversions are in place.
