Two people escape flat fire in Rhymney, Caerphilly county

Two people have escaped a flat fire in Rhymney, Caerphilly county.

The alarm was raised at 04:50 GMT on Sunday, and crews from Rhymney, Merthyr Tydfil and Ebbw Vale were called to the scene.

A spokesperson for South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said two people had managed to leave the property in Heol Aneurin Bevan before firefighters arrived.

The incident was over shortly after 05:20 GMT.
