A man had to be cut free following a three vehicle crash which closed an exit slip road on the M4 before the morning rush hour.

The collision happened at junction 33 eastbound for Cardiff West and the interchange was blocked.

Traffic heading from the A4232 wanting to go east on the M4 was sent on the westbound carriageway and had to turn around at junction 34.

But the road has now reopened and traffic is starting to ease.

South Wales Fire and Rescue say the man suffered slight injuries and was taken to hospital.
