Girl bitten by dog: No offence committed - Gwent Police

Police say no offence was committed by the owner of a dog which bit an 11-year-old girl who climbed into the compound where it was kept.

Gwent Police investigated after the 11-year-old is understood to have needed stitches to her wound.

But officers said the owner of the compound took "all reasonable steps" to secure the compound in Newport and let people know the dog was there.

Police said two children had climbed into the compound on 18 June.
