M4 crash: Motorcyclist seriously injured between junctions 37 and 40

A man has been seriously injured after his motorcycle crashed on the M4 near Bridgend.

The incident happened on the eastbound carriageway at junction 38 (Margam) on Friday.

The motorcyclist was taken to hospital by air ambulance following the crash. No other vehicle was involved.

The motorway was reopened after being closed in both directions between junctions 37 and 40 for an hour, but long tailbacks continued.

South Wales Police said the motorway was fully reopened after officers completed their investigation at the scene.
